Which comes first, chaos or structure?

“I need energy to work. I have to run around & scream before I generate ideas. The first step to any project is to create without boundaries. Then edit & iterate. So chaos & randomness & aggression always come first. Tyler said it best: “Create like a child—edit like a scientist.

What advice would you give to artists?

“Technical skills don’t make you an artist. Memorizing & executing makes you a computer. You can always learn skills. You can’t learn to be an artist—it’s a mindset, an approach to life, that you must carry with you always. It’s within all of us, but as we grow, we often choose to suppress it. Being an artist is not a party trick.”
